Sickla Köpkvarter

Background

The Sickla premises began its history as an area of heavy industry at the turn of the 20th Century. Some famous Swedish industrial and textile brands began their life there. With over 160 shops and 2600 parking places, the lack of navigation and visual communication on the premises left business’, clients and consumers struggling to find their desired destination. Safety was another issue that had to be addressed, a brighter environment was in need of consideration.

Solution

The users journey was analyzed and a comprehensive navigation system for pedestrians, cars and streets was produced. Light was a device used to promote safety and awareness of house and gallery entrances. A 45 metre long and 7 metre high lit wallpaper was also installed as a nod to their past heritage and to invite customers to a safer environment.
